AJ Buildings Library

The AJ (Architect’s Journal) Buildings Library is a digital database that showcases more than 1,900 exemplar projects, most from the last 20 years, but including major projects back to 1900. You can search for projects by age, cost, architect, building type, footprint, location, or a combination of these. Each project includes full project data (more than 20 items of information) and comprehensive architectural photographs and drawings (plans, elevation, section), all at high resolution.

To use this collection, you will first need to register via the Architect's Journal website while on-campus.

BFI InView offers a unique window on Britain’s changing political, economic and social landscape in the age of film and television. It contains one thousand hours of non-fiction moving images and eight thousand pages of related documents. This archive will not be updated though. Choose to log in via your institution.


BFI Screenonline

Online encyclopaedia of British film and television featuring hundreds of hours of clips from the collections of the BFI National Archive, and several hours of recorded interviews with film and TV personalities. These clips are supplemented by commissioned material from expert writers, alongside thousands of stills, posters and press books.


British Education Index

Does not provide full-text articles. The British Education Index provides information on research, policy and practice in education and training in the UK. Strengths include aspects of educational policy and administration, evaluation and assessment, technology and special educational needs. It covers all aspects of education from preschool to higher education. Sources include education and training journals, mostly published in the UK.

British Library Sounds

British Library Sounds presents 50,000 recordings and their associated documentation from the Library’s extensive collections of unique sound recordings which come from all over the world and cover the entire range of recorded sound: music, drama and literature, oral history, UK regional dialects, wildlife and environmental sounds.

British Pathe icon

British Pathe

British Pathé is considered to be the finest newsreel archive in the world. Its collection of over 85,000 films spans from 1896 to 1976. The collection includes footage from around the globe of major events, famous faces, fashion trends, travel, science and culture.


Box of Broadcasts (BoB)

BoB enables all staff and students in subscribing institutions to choose and record any broadcast programme from 60+ TV and radio channels. The recorded programmes are then kept indefinitely (no expiry) and added to a growing media archive (currently at over 1 million programmes), with all content shared by users across all subscribing institutions. When searching BoB, use the 'Search options' e.g. to search the 'Title only' and 'TV only'.

Child Development & Adolescent Studies, produced by NISC, is today’s source for references to the current and historical literature related to growth and development of children through the age of 21. Book reviews and abstracts from hundreds of journals and a bibliography of thousands of technical reports, books, book chapters, theses and dissertations covering biomedical and social sciences worldwide are indexed. More than 342,000 records are included with over 10,000 new records added each year.
